Abstracts Due Friday, August 4th 2023
In preparation for the 2023 National Symposium, the IJIS Institute is soliciting innovative, engaging, and informative, topical areas and presentations to be reviewed for potential inclusion as part of the event agenda. These presentations should highlight relevant and educational content that supports the IJIS domains of focus which include Justice, Public Safety, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, and Critical Infrastructure. IJIS Staff and select committees will review these abstracts, which should be submitted by Friday, August 4th. Though we are deep in the agenda development phase, unique and valuable topics/speakers are encouraged and welcomed.
This year’s IJIS National Symposium will focus on three mains tracks: 1) Operations – this includes but is not limited to leadership, staffing, recruitment, procurement, etc. 2) Standards and Policy – the importance of frameworks like NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), CJIS Security Policy, National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), etc. and, 3) Innovative and Emerging Technologies – including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning, ChatGPT, Knowledge Graphs, and other technologies impacting our constituents and their operations on a daily basis whether positive or negative. Abstracts proposed as part of this call for presentation should aim to highlight innovative and collaborative public/private sector partnerships.
While these themes will be front and center on the National Symposium agenda, we want to ensure our members and constituents can promote the innovative and life-altering work we know is available and is incorporated into our communities nationwide.
