Call for Participation: IJIS Technology and Architecture Committee Submission Deadline: Wednesday, August 9, 2023
This Call for Participation (CFP) is an invitation for your involvement in the IJIS Institute’s Technology and Architecture Committee (ITAC).Â
Advisory committees are constituted to provide input and recommendations to the Institute and to other organizations on specific topical areas not related to a single project or task. All Members are welcome to serve on advisory committees, and committee leadership ideally constitutes representatives from both public and private sector in order to provide a balanced perspective on the areas of interest.

Mission of Advisory Committee:Â
The mission of the IJIS Technology and Architecture Committee (ITAC) is to provide information to industry and practitioners regarding technologies, architectures, standards, and associated privacy and security issues, that enable the successful adoption of the technology and sharing or enterprise use of information. The committee focus is on topics that are innovative, disruptive, emerging, underpublicized, and not universally understood within the public-sector community. ITAC will become a technology thought leader to educate government, national standards practice associations, and research/academic organizations as well as raise awareness and understanding within the community of industry. The committee’s work with the technologies and standards is intended to help government and industry drive innovation, increase success, reduce risk, contributing to sophisticated and powerful technology solutions today and in the future.Â
Objectives of Advisory Committee:Â
The ITAC will be corporate-neutral in activities and work products by providing industry-based information that can be used by executives, practitioners, and technologists in government, industry, national standards practice associations, and research/academic organizations as they make strategic decisions regarding information sharing and enterprise technology strategy. ITAC will achieve these goals via work products including white papers, position papers, technology/standards/architecture reviews, webinar sessions, conference presentations, convening roundtables and summits, and social media outreach.Â
Advisory Committee Composition and Member Responsibilities:Â
ITAC will be composed of a chairperson, a vice-chairperson, secretary, and committee members from IJIS Institute member organizations, alliance partners, government associates, and academia. Any individual who has skills and experience that will assist ITAC in achieving its identified mission in this effort or maintains an interest in this dynamic and important subject area is welcome to join by submitting a response to the regular calls for participation issued by the committee. Monthly conference calls. To maintain membership in the committee, members are required to attend 8 of the 10 scheduled calls each year. Face-to-face committee meetings are encouraged two times per year as part of the IJIS Institute events. To maintain membership in the committee, members are required to attend a minimum of one of the two scheduled in-person meetings each year. Coordinate and produce work products which will consist of white papers, webinar sessions, conference presentations, convening roundtables and summits, and social media outreach
Participation Requirements and Skills Needed:Â
The IJIS Institute seeks practitioners and industry representatives who are operational experts and/or IT professionals uniquely qualified to identify business and operational challenges.Â
