In support of and collaboration with the FBI’s CJIS Division, the IJIS Institute constituted this Working Group to help address the complexity of the most recent updates to the CJIS Security Policy. This publication specifically focuses on changes to the Systems and Information Integrity sections of the recent CJIS Security Policy versions.

The Recover Core Function identifies appropriate activities and supports the timely recovery to normal operations of assets, such as data, applications, and infrastructure, impacted by a cybersecurity incident.
The Respond function helps organizations minimize the impact of incidents, improve their resilience, and restore normal operations as soon as possible.
The Detect actions support an organization’s ability to find and analyze cybersecurity attacks and compromises in a timely manner, therefore mitigating harm and supporting successful incident response and recover activities.
This Playbook is intended to help users in their quest to create or enhance an effective and efficient Information Sharing and Safeguarding (IS&S) Environment, and can be used at any point in the environment’s lifecycle, even starting over from scratch!
The Protect function supports an organization’s ability to secure their assets (data and infrastructure) by reducing the likelihood and impact of adverse events, while simultaneously increasing an organization’s ability to successfully take advantage of opportunities.
