IJIS Board of Directors Appoints Executive Leadership

Ashburn, VA, September 2022 – The newly elected IJIS Institute Board of Directors recently met for its quarterly board meeting to provide strategic direction of the organization in the fulfillment of its mission and goals. This in-person meeting was held at the IJIS Mid-Year Briefing and Membership Forum in Orlando, Florida. As part of the annual election process, the following members were elected for a three-year term on the Board:

  • David Jackson – Senior Director, Business Development, Thompson Reuters
  • Ed Parkinson – President, Public Sector, RapidSOS

Other members present for the Board meeting and continuing their terms include the following:

  • Ryan Burchnell – Director, FirstNet Market Strategy and Development, AT&T
  • Juan Colon – Advisory Industry Consultant, SAS
  • Mike Lesko – Senior Director, Government Technology and Services, NEC Corp. of America
  • Roger Mann – Chief Executive Officer, Smart Response Technologies
  • Stephen L. Morris – FBI IBM Associate Partner
  • Joe Wheeler – Vice President, Justice and Courts, Mission Critical Partners
  • Rick Zak – Director, Data Governance and Compliance, Microsoft

 

During their meeting before the annual Mid-Year Briefing, and in accordance with the IJIS bylaws, the group appointed its executive leadership with Joe Wheeler as Chairman, Rick Zak as Vice-Chairman, Roger Mann as Treasurer, Ryan Burchnell as Secretary, and Juan Colon as Director at-Large. The other individuals will serve as Members to the Board.

“I am excited to be part of this energetic group that is guiding the IJIS mission,” said Joe Wheeler, Chairman of the Board. “We are indebted to of those board members that came before us and will build on their great work and personal investment.”

Executive Director Maria Cardiellos offered “Once again, we have the great fortune of leaders from the IJIS private sector community that not only have unique value to offer our organization but are willing to contribute of their time and energy.
