The IJIS Institute Officially Launches the IJIS Leadership Academy

Philadelphia, PA: The IJIS Institute is pleased to share recent accomplishments and announce the creation of the IJIS Leadership Academy, a progressive leadership program bridging the public and private space for a better tomorrow.

IJIS recently hosted its inaugural event, bringing together a diverse group of executives from both public sector and industry to collaborate on the development of a transformative leadership portfolio. The one-of-a-kind event was held at the historic National Constitution Center, a learning institute celebrating those individuals who paved a way to a better tomorrow while navigating our nation’s most pivotal moments.

During the two-day retreat, participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions focused on crafting a leadership framework designed to equip current and emerging leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to address today’s landscape and tomorrow’s challenges. The experiential retreat, complete with integrated learning opportunities, leveraged the stories that have shaped our country, leaders, and citizens, to help illustrate the need for agile and adaptable leadership, leading with integrity, and navigating ongoing change.

This retreat marks the first step in the development of the IJIS Leadership Academy, a key initiative that will soon offer a suite of training and leadership development opportunities for the current and next generation of professionals and organizations supporting the intersection of the public sector mission space and those private sector representatives who support that very mission area.

“We are proud to be spearheading this critical effort and so grateful to the Founding Advisors that contributed to the program development during the inaugural event,” said Maria Cardiellos, Executive Director of the IJIS Institute. “As the world around us changes, so must our approach to leadership. The IJIS Leadership Academy will provide the tools and resources necessary to support leaders who are ready to innovate, collaborate, and drive positive change in our organizations, communities and beyond. Our goal is not to replace the very valuable courses already on the market for leadership development. Rather, it seeks to challenge the younger leaders to serve as the catalyst and inspire innovation and success in their organizations and environments.”

Given the valuable contribution of our Founding Advisors, the following events and/or services will be available for your engagement, education, and support of during 2025 and beyond.

  • Virtual Roundtable Discussion: A dynamic and interactive forum scheduled for the first quarter, bringing together thought leaders to explore the criticality of agile and adaptability in leadership.
