As we plan for a successful year ahead, we are excited to share highlights, key initiatives, and our 2026 event schedule and sponsorship opportunities designed to maximize member impact. We have proactively adjusted event fees reflecting increased event and administrative costs to help sustain our organization’s growth and enable us to continue delivering valuable programs for our community.

Driving Member Engagement: 2026 Initiatives

  • Center of Excellence on AI for Justice, Public Safety, and Security – The IJIS Institute, in collaboration with the Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience at Rutgers University and the University of Ottawa Professional Development Institute will continue providing leadership in the adoption and responsible use of AI across justice and public safety, including new resources, guidance, and collaborative demonstration projects. Further details regarding COE membership, including the range of membership levels and associated benefits, are available here. Additional details will be shared over time in the future.
  • CJIS Security Policy Discussion Board – Developed by the IJIS Institute’s CJIS Security Policy Working Group, this discussion board provides our members with a dedicated forum to discuss, interpret, and share best practices on the evolving CJIS Security Policy modernization efforts, ultimately supporting the implementation of updates and compliance strategies.
  • IJIS Leadership Academy – Building on the strong momentum of 2025, the IJIS Leadership Academy will introduce a dynamic series of webinars, immersive leadership development experiences, and expanded opportunities for engagement in 2026. These programs are specifically designed to empower and connect emerging leaders from both public and private sectors who support justice and public safety agencies.
  • IJIS Advisory Committee Collaboration – Our advisory committees, along with their working groups and task forces are a cornerstone of collaboration and transformation for the justice and public safety community. Public and private sector thought leaders come together to advance innovation, policy, standards, change management, and workforce development. Signature IJIS Events for 2026

We invite our members to mark their calendars and plan active engagement / sponsorship at these unique opportunities for continued collaborative learning and networking. Though other events may be added to our suite of services, the following represents the plans for 2026:

  • IJIS Next Gen ECR Summit – February 26, 2026 | Fairfax County, VA
  • Annual IJIS Event + 25-Year Celebration – April / May 2026 | Northern VA | Additional details forthcoming (includes in-person committee meetings and a special celebration of 25 years of IJIS impact).
  • Justice, Public Safety and Security AI Summit – September 8-10, 2026 | Tysons Corner, VA
  • Corrections Leadership Technology Forum (BI-Annual) – November 2026 | Location TBD
  • IJIS Leadership Academy Webinars (Quarterly) – March | June | September | December

For the events listed above, registration fees for private sector members are estimated to be up to $600.
