What’s In a Logo? Cultivating a Bridge to Leadership

Leadership Academy Ethics & Values Logo 4A 2026 FINAL

A logo is far more than a symbolic feature of a brand. It is a visual representation of values and goals, and of a process for adhering to and attaining them. It can also be a herald of things to come, of an improved state of being.

These and other facets of a logo were taken into account when developing one for the IJIS Leadership Academy. As a new and thoughtful approach for IJIS to support its community, stepping into this space required a new identity. Yet, that new identity remains deeply rooted in the core message that IJIS is a collaboration network that brings together innovative thinkers from the public and private sectors.

The Academy builds on and extends these mission elements. It is a professional learning and development program for individuals and teams working together at the nexus of information sharing and policy development to address public sector technology challenges. Its goal is simple: To demonstrate the power of structured leadership and organizational design— across both public and private sectors.

Also embedded in these concepts is the need for collaboration and co-creation. These crucial components of leadership allow team members, internal and external stakeholders, and those with hands-on responsibility for delivering on the promise of stated goals to create the bridges necessary to connect it all and make it happen. Effective leadership helps a team get clear on the goal, stay motivated, and able to perform.

The IJIS Leadership Academy cultivates a bridge to leadership. This is its brand and its promise.
