IJIS CyberTaskForce SummerSeries Webinar1 (6/18/15)
This webinar is the first in a series of three webinars sponsored by the IJIS Institute’s Information Sharing Safeguarding (Cybersecurity) Task Force. In this first webinar, presenters will discuss increasing concerns over cyber threats that have made cybersecurity a policy priority. News about high-impact attacks of large enterprises has become common place – government and public safety systems are not immune to security incidents. In response to this growing threat, state, local, tribal and territorial governments are starting to develop and implement cybersecurity approaches to manage risks. Presenters will explain White House Executive Order #13636 Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity that includes a systematic process for identifying, assessing, and managing risk across your operational environment. The use of standards, policies, and procedures enacted by nationally respected groups like NIST are a good place to start
Moderator: James Emerson, Chair of the IJIS Information Safeguarding Task Force

Cyber Summer Series 2: Private Sector Cybersecurity Threat Information Sharing
White House Executive Order 13636 created the foundation for a cyber framework. Executive Order 13691 builds on that framework to promote private sector cybersecurity information sharing. To keep pace with cyber adversaries, all types of organizations need to be able to share and respond to cyber risk in as close to real time as possible. Executive Order 13691 expands information sharing relationships beyond traditional critical infrastructure sectors (i.e., financial services, energy).
