As part of the second Phase of the Computer Aided Dispatch-to-Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD-to-CAD) Interoperability Project the Integrated Justice Information Systems (IJIS) Institute was awarded by the Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology (DHS S&T) Directorate, the interoperability specification developed in Phase 1 was implemented in a test environment of three agencies to demonstrate how standards based interoperability can be achieved between CAD systems.  Â
Â
The three agencies that participated in the implementation were:Â
Â
- Hanover Township, NH (Computer Square Inc. (CSI) Technology Group InfoShare CAD User).Â
- Grafton County, NH (CSI Technology Group InfoShare CAD User).Â
- Hartford, Township, VT (Motorola Flex CAD User).Â
Â
Hanover Township, New Hampshire uses the InfoShareâ„¢ CAD system from CSI Technology Group in a regional InfoShareâ„¢ CAD environment with the Grafton County Dispatch Center and the New Hampshire State Police Dispatch Center.Â
Â
The InfoCADâ„¢ environment is hosted in the Amazon GovCloud and consists of four (4) CAD stations which is staffed 7×24 with a minimum of two (2) dispatchers during the day. During the 2022 calendar year, the Hanover Communications Center handled 30,259 calls for service. Of the total call volume, 1,759 calls were dispatched for Vermont agencies.Â
Â
Grafton County, New Hampshire also uses the InfoShareâ„¢ CAD system from CSI Technologies in a regional InfoShareâ„¢ CAD environment with the Hanover Township Dispatch Center and the New Hampshire State Police Dispatch Center.Â
Â
The Grafton County, New Hampshire InfoCADâ„¢ environment is also hosted in the Amazon GovCloud and consists of seven (7) CAD stations which is staffed 7×24 with a minimum of three (3) dispatchers during the day. During the 2022 calendar year, the Grafton Sheriff’s Department handled 44,419 calls for service. Of the total call volume, 711 calls were dispatched for Vermont agencies.Â
Â
Hartford Township, Vermont uses the Motorola Flex CAD system. The environment consists of three (3) CAD stations.Â
Â
During the 2022 calendar year, the Hartford Township Dispatch Center logged 19,654 calls for service and answered a total of 25,370 911 calls (PSAP and State rollover).Â
Â
Testing was conducted between Hanover Township, NH and Hartford, VT and between Grafton County, NH and Hartford, VT using the following two (2) Use Cases.Â
Â
- Three or Four Alarm FireÂ
- Medical EmergencyÂ
Â
The outcome of the test implementations successfully demonstrated the viability of implementing the IJIS CAD-to-CAD Incident Exchange specifications in a live environment. Â
