Ashburn, VA, August 25, 2026 – The Superior Court of the District of Columbia has received the 2026 National Court Technology and Innovation Award for its implementation of the Child Guidance Clinic Case Management Application within the Court Social Services Division. The award was presented at the National Association for Court Management (NACM) Annual Conference in Jacksonville, Florida.
Katara Wilkins-Laws, Chief Psychologist for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, said: “The Superior Court of the District of Columbia is honored to receive this year’s National Court Technology and Innovation Award. The Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Court Social Services Division, was recognized for the successful implementation of the Child Guidance Clinic Case Management Application, developed by Global Justice Solutions, LLC. The solution replaced paper-based and fragmented processes with a modern, unified case management platform that integrates clinical, probation, and court records into a single system. By improving efficiency, coordination, reporting, and access to critical information, the application supports more informed decision-making for court-involved youth while advancing the Court’s mission of public safety and reducing recidivism.
Sponsored jointly by the IJIS Institute, the National Association for Court Management (NACM), the National Center for State Courts (NCSC), and the Joint Technology Committee (JTC), the award recognizes court technology solutions that demonstrate innovation, measurable impact, technical excellence, collaboration, sustainability, and alignment with justice system goals. The IJIS Courts Advisory Committee (ICAC) led the review, evaluation, and selection process, drawing on the expertise of court and technology leaders from across the justice community.

The program enhances accountability, supports data-driven decision-making, and provides key performance data for federal oversight reporting and the court’s annual budget justification to Congress.
The Texas Office of Court Administration was recognized for its Texas Court Reminder Program, powered by eCourtDate, a statewide, no-cost court reminder service that delivers automated text and email notifications in more than 100 languages. The program improves court appearance rates, supports court efficiency, and expands access to justice through a scalable, evidence-based approach available to courts across Texas.
The National Court Technology and Innovation Award highlights solutions that strengthen court operations, improve access to justice, enhance public trust and confidence, and demonstrate the potential for adoption by courts nationwide.
